Great rig! What do the rest of the band think of your new amp?

They have never really commented on any of the rigs I've used. I was with them 2 years, but I quit a month ago and the 4th was my last gig with them.

Ha! Nope. The drummer is my favorite of them all. He is REALLY good and he's the one that hooked me up with them in the first place. I wish I could get him to join me a new band.

I have an overnight fly date in the early AM. .mM is sitting in my carry on with extra socks as cushion.. I spec'd an 810 since they are easy to locate. . .I always look forward to seeing what actually shows up. Ha

I just ordered the MM1000 today. I've been reading this thread and all the comments regarding the 'heft' made my GAS flare up.
I use an SVT CL through a Berg NV610t for most of my gigs and love the tone and 'heft' and wish I could get that in a smaller lightweight package.

I've got a Mesa D800 for home use and smaller gigs but I've never been completely satisfied with it. I'll A/B the Mesa against the MM next week when it arrives. I'll report back with results.

Well I've had my MiniMega for about a week and I have to agree with some of the comments around Peavey's new micro heads. This amp gives me the "heft" and "power slam" I was looking for out of a micro. I like to FEEL the notes I'm playing. I use an SVT as my main amp but this will serve as my home rig, smaller gigs, and ones where I just don't want to haul the SVT.

The punch feature is awesome! It adds the right amount of "something" that adds to the heft. It's nothing like the deep switch on the Subway or the ultra low button on the Ampegs, I don't find any use for those. Those add way too much low bass. The punch boosts the right frequency to be very useful and it sounds awesome! The mid controls are great as well. There is so much tonal flexibility with this amp.

I don't need the crunch, Kosmos, or even the different color lighting scheme. No biggie, I just won't use them. So far I'm very impressed. I just sold my Subway this morning too. That was a great amp but I feel this gives me more of what I was looking for.

I agree with your "punch" assessment. To me it feels like it has that 100 Hz SVT-esque swell.

I love the "punch" button. I was expecting to use the fancy dual semi-parametric mids a lot, but end up mostly turning on punch and using the other knobs to adjust for the room.

Its the only baked-in-eq-switch I've had on an amp and actually used.

The Punch button does add that certain something that is very friendly to a great bass tone in a mix

It went great... The backlined a pair of hartke 410s.. You can see those cones move easily..
The amp has Heft to each note for sure. It takes a little getting used to the Semi Para EQ if you're not used to one.. Since each amps Para Mids work and sound different from each other...
I sat with the amp when i first go it with my FAVE speaker cab, and played my bass while MAXING the EQ Mids and turning the FREQ knob in order to familiarize my ears to what it sounds like when a knob is in a certain position. It just helps me know the amp better and be able to set it FAST while on a gig.

I didnt uses Kosmos. But i do love what it does. not the octave KOSMOS but the other FAT DEEP one really does sounds huge when added in a minimal amount..

Well it's been a whole week without a post. I'm a little bit surprised this hasn't blown up like the Subway did. I think the long delay put a lot of potential buyers off the old feed bag and left a bad taste in their mouths. I'm still thinking seriously about this amp in lieu of the Subway. One of the reasons is the price differential but also the power difference.

Just traded my Magellan for a MiniMega, much happier now. Sounds more authoritative at home and sounded good a rehearsal last night, I'll be giving it the real test on Saturday night.

I don't know how many times or ways I can say I dig it.

But I also like the subway. Unless you get discounts (which you usually can) the price difference is only $100. The extra $100 gets you get a smaller, lighter package, a better bag, a quieter fan and a significantly better warranty but less bells and whistles and lower (rated) power. But if you don't dig the tone all that stuff doesn't matter.

It's nice to have great options. But all in all the MM is a winner.

Could be. Sometimes it seems like there is a double standard. Look at threads for other amps that are late, and you'll see lots of encouragement and love instead of the negativity we got. People started lambasting us pretty early on. I guess it doesn't really matter in the long run because we keep selling out of them. I like to think that our customers are actually playing their amps instead of posting about them on TB.

I can say, mine is a workhorse.
Late, but worth the wait, right? This lil briefcase gem is totally worth it. For me, this thing puts $ in my pocket every week. Thanks.

Oh man, the mM goes insanely well with the Dually. In fact, I haven't met a cab it doesn't like yet BUT it dug my Dually particularly well.
