Pedal sample thread

"fade in" is really cool sounding. And "forever flange" is very interesting. It reminds me of the show Silk Stalkings. LOL... waak Wah sounds sort of like pink floyd's "Money." "White hot bass" sounds like Cliff Burton being electricuted. Nice!

Looks like the Art Nightbass Se will be the newest addition my GAS list. Those of some of the coolest effects I have heard. Very original as well. It's midi too, right?

Sean

Edit: Zoom BFX clips and ADA MB1 coming soon...

cliff burton was exactly who i thought it sounded like too...o must not be that far off!

midi? yes. hook that baby up to an X-15 foot contoller, and you are in effect heaven. as for originality, that is what drew me to it. there are more effects that sound even crazier, maybe Kelly Lee will add some cool ones too!

the nightbass is one amazing piece of equipment imo. i am using it to record mostly now, and its got everything you'd need, even speaker sims!

edit: and you can also get a windows based editor, so you can edit and create effects on your computer, through midi!

You mean you can create custom effects on your computer and then upload them as patches to the nightbass? How cool is that?! BTW, my ADA MB1 is also midi... maybe they can be friends. :smug:

Also, Les Claypool uses a Nightbass IIRC....

EDit: Can you upload the effects as .wav files? That would cool to combine effects. I could record a distortion sound from my ADA MB1 and upload it the Nightbass... that be pretty cool, indeed...

yes..but it's realtime editing
he did? no way!! thats cool. i like les claypool
that would be cool, but i am not sure if you can do that...i'll have to tinker with it some more!

Yea, I did a couple of the really strange presets just so everybody could check them out.

The Nightbass is a highly under-rated processor IMO. With the available Windows editor (envy that Line6 users, jk!) you can create your own patches and upload them to the Nightbass. I will try to record some more later.

Listening to your clips now Kelly...

*listens to "B Flick # 2"*

The intro to Spinal Tap's "Stonehenge"! AWESOME!

*listens to "Blk Sab 1"*

"Black Sabbath," nice... I was playin that last night...

*curiously listens to "Chocolate Snarl" (nice title)*

Freakin' awesome! Very unique sounding...

That's all I have time for now. My clips are comin in about 15 minutes....

Ok, I have returned...

This is a ring modulator effect from a Zoom BFX-708. It has a foot pedal on it, which I used to alter the effect as you will hear. It's a little longer than the other clips just so you know...

You can download it here: http://www.witestlab.com/talkbass/Zoom BFX-708/Ring Mod.mp3

Update: It seems that my upload is too slow and it keeps quiting in the middle of the upload. So it only uploaded the first 16 seconds. That's alright, I'll upload the rest of it later. This will just be a small taste for now... Time to get some sleep :o ...

Sean

EDIT: Kelly, I apologize if it sounds too similiar to "B flick" - that was unintentional

Been discontinued for quite awhile. Good thing is that you can pick them up looking brand new (or darn near) very cheap. Mine is actually the original Nightbass that has the SE upgrade chip. The date of the chip is June of '93 and as far as I know, that was the last incarnation of the Nightbass :crying:

Hi,

I've just done this search on Ebay.

Wow, those are some cheap FX

yeah, that X-15 is huge. it really gets the job done though!
i really like it because its got 2 expressions pedals, and 10 buttons. the cool thing about that is that if you've got a patch that has a few effects in it (ie reverb+delay+distortion+phaser), you can switch individual effects on and off...its really cool, but also discontinued (i think) :crying:
