Pedals you wanted ...until you tried them.

Great fun reading about some of my favorite pedals that aren’t working for others. Different strokes!
For me the only way to really know if I like something is to live with it for a few weeks... thus my large stash of unused pedals. Yeah I should sell them off sometime.

Wren & Cuff Suppa Phat Phuk - I just couldn't hear any for that claimed "tone magic" it was supposed to add to my tone and if I wanted a boost pedal now, I would just go with the TC Spark and save me a good €200...

Solidgoldfx Imperial BC183 - I wanted a muff and bought this because of the mids switch which I thought might help me cutting through the mix. Tried it with my band the next day, and it didn't. I now have a TAFM on order, and it being a fuzz designed primarily for bass, my hopes are high.

Meridian Funkulator V1. On paper it was the bomb. In reality it had a significant design flaw in the envelope Filter part of the circuit. Contacted the maker recently and was told there is no mod to fix V1, but kindly offered to sell me a deeply discounted current version. I appreciated the gesture.

Tried and didn't like various Muff-types on bass, until I heard the new Green Russian.

Pickle Pie seems good, also.

Anyone tried the EBS Dynaverb? I'm interested in that one

I have one on my DI board. It sounds great, like a good studio rackmount digital verb, all clear and shiny and stereo, even. So, it has it's use, but it's not what I'd put onna live board (and so I didn't).

I notice something; Most of you seem to have bought the pedals you list rather than having decided during pre-purchase try out, that the pedals weren't for you. right?
I would say yes... a) almost no stores near me stock decent pedals... and b) only with your own gear / band setting is it possible to ascertain if it leaves... apart from my bass whammy , pretty much if anything failed the band test I moved it on cos otherwise I wouldn’t really use it...

Fair points indeed!
I've been lucky in this regard having never purchased a pedal that I didn't like, partly due to access to a very well stocked shop, twice or thrice a year.
