Pet peeve: bass players who write "BASE"?!?!?!?

So your PET peeve...the ONE thing that you selected as the thing you are going to be MOST annoyed at, is someone else's spelling problem.
Seriously, you can't spell the word for the instrument you play?
Look around you will see threads where someone writes "base line" or ads like "for sale: base guitar."
This is really just sad. It ain't that hard a word to spell.
Bass may be the base of the music, but it is spelled bass!
Ironic post, being that "ain't" is not a word. And "This is really just sad." should be worded" This is just sad, really.

Jerks who want to endlessly harp about a post I made regarding bass players who use the word "base" instead of "bass."
And no, "pet" does not mean that there is only one thing that is annoying.
How scholarly of you. Perhaps you should consider looking up the definition of "ironic" before using it in a snarky reply.

Actually, spelt is not a kind of wheat. It's, well, spelt. I highly reccomend spelt bread though. Very tasty.

More importantly, if it was an important issue, it wouldn't be a "pet peeve," now would it?
My pet peeve is the phrase "pet peeve." Really. Drives me nuts, for no good reason. And yes, I see how that's mildly ironic.

My pet peeve is with Squier owners who keep spelling it Squire.
It's especially perplexing when they are selling one and in the ad copy it states - "I have this Squire bass for sale." right next to a close up pic of the headstock.

Yeah! Let's send multiple letters to the maximum authority on the English language (whatever that is), and demand them to ommit the word "base" as a proper English word, having only "bass" as an option. Problem solved.
Now, interestingly, there is a road in my city called "Baseline". If "base" wasn't a proper English word, it would have to be re-named "Bassline Road". Now, that would be awesome!
And yet nobody has a problem spelling Fender, go figure...

So you've never come across someone who talked about "Phaender" basses? I have.
And the ones that take a shot back are probably the ones that thought it was spelt " Base " anyway ???
