Phase Polarity

I would like to add a blend knob to by TS9. I found a griffin blend circuit on ebay, and I can handle the install myself.

Is there a way to see if I need to change the phase of the blend/ TS9 before I get everything installed? Once I get it installed, how do I know if I even need to worry about the phase?
