Phaser that has that funk

Someone mentioned the SGFX Apollo earlier. I'm interested in the Apollo II for the rhythmical possibilities with expression pedal and variable waveforms, but does it 'have the funk' with bass? I have an MXR 90 script reissue and while it is lush, it's also a bit limited. Has anyone played with the Apollo II?

Nice, that's a worthy sonic goalpost! The Phase 100 gets extra pts from me just because of the visual knob settings. It's a far cry from those pedals with "hip" names that force you to study the manual for explanation.

Haha thanks Zach, it was your demo that piqued my interest in the Apollo in the first place, so I'd say it's definitely worth something I like the features and functionality of the pedal, which is what you focus on in the demo, but you don't say much about the sonic quality of the actual phasing effect. You normally make it pretty clear if a pedal makes a real impact on you sonically, so I was curious about that aspect...if is 'has the funk' as the OP says

I really enjoyed the Apollos character actually. I'm not a huge phaser person, but it is definitely nice and chewy.

I love love love my Pigtronix Bass Envelope Phaser. I use it more like an auto-wah in stoner/doom metal stuff, but it can get really wet and funky.

+1 for using clean signal into the EP2 trigger with comp/dirt/octave into the main input.

I am using 2 9v batteries but if you want to get creative you can modify it with a adaptor to use a power supply but i did not want to drill holes in it. If there were many of these around i would but since they are getting rare ill leave it as it is.
