There's 500 cubic inches lurking under the hood of that Eldorado. Early versions (70 &71) produced 400 something horsepower and an amazing 550 ft/lbs of torque, all in by 3000 rpm.
At 100 lbs lighter than a 454 Chevy engine, the 500 Cadillac engine is an overlooked beast for a hot rod engine swap.

1979 Honda Civic. My first car when I was 17 in 1986.
I drove it for 2 years until I grenaded the motor. My next car was a fairly beaten 68 Mustang fastback with a 390 and 4 speed.
Civic -- 53 hp.
Mustang -- 325 hp.

Mom and Dad had a brand new 1976 Cougar XR7 in black. Looked just like this. That's the car I learned to drive in.
