There's 500 cubic inches lurking under the hood of that Eldorado. Early versions (70 &71) produced 400 something horsepower and an amazing 550 ft/lbs of torque, all in by 3000 rpm.

At 100 lbs lighter than a 454 Chevy engine, the 500 Cadillac engine is an overlooked beast for a hot rod engine swap.

Ah, but people did... I remember cars like this in Philly when I was growing up. TV antenna too.
