Turned out my grandpa loved cars, even though he didn't know much about. Well, my parents ended up using this car for their wedding.

In the town where I live (Maibor, Slovenia), one just like that is the most popular "love car", rented out for weddings! So you never see it without flowers on the hood, and tin cans hanging off the rear bumber, etc. My office is directly under the city office for civil marriages, and the cathedral where the wealthy get married is a stone's throw out the back door, so I see ithat car regularly.

Those are swanky as hell, and famous for their "waterbed" riding comfort (super sophisticated active suspension in a Citroen DS, they automatically hunker down at highway speeds, for example).

my first car was a 1969 Volvo P1800 Black with red vinyl interior, 4 speed stick with a push button OD on the dash... pair of side-draft weber carbs, ralley cam and header with over sized exhaust. Looked like this one (same year and color combo)

Citroen Ami 6 Break. An absolute blast to drive, even with its measly 2-cylinder engine "borrowed" from 2CV.

The mother of my neighbor girlfriend had one of those (even the same color).
I remember rides on the backseat with it.

Some people put the 4 cylinder boxer of crashed Citroën GS's in their 2CV in the late seventies, early eighties. Good for surprises at the traffic lights.

That was also a factory option and the car was known as Ami Super.

Then there was a GS with the Wankel engine...lots of crazy stuff back then.

Some may call it sacrilege, but I'd love to get one and put a modern powertrain and suspension in it. Probably an LS3 crate and a T56 if I could make it happen. I just think it would be so neat to have the body of an older car, with a more reliable powertrain. Not everyone agrees however, but i guess everyone has opinions.

I'm in the process of an LS/turbo swap in my 10 second Camaro. Yes, I dig the brute force and ignorance that the old school 454 offers, but at the same time I'd like to be able to twist the key and have a quick car with a predictable idle on pump gas instead of 112 octane racing fuel.

Regarding the T56, I've got one on my work bench just waiting to go into my 68 SS396 El Camino...... would be nice compared to the archaic M21 Muncie that's in there now.....
