the only thing that might and i mean might improve it would be one of those super red tort guards that you see from time to time on japanese reissues

I bought my 73' new and it came with a white PG.
It is no longer bright white after al these years.
Almost swapped to tort but really didn't want to alter a really clean stock bass.
Surprised at how good the MOT looks on natural.

Worn brushed steel pickguard plus chrome pickup and bridge covers on my maple neck/natural body P bass.
I had a brass and a copper pickguard made for my Franken-P bass . I currently have the brass one on it . The bass is black and the brass looked better than the copper . But the copper may look good against a light natural color .
