PICKGUARD COLOR FOR NATURAL PRECISION?

This is not my Jazz bass but the pearloid pickguard looks really clean and classy.

I wish they could've done something to improve that pickguard's straight line, although it looks much better in pearl white than black.
Not quite like this but...

Thx mate! Ask and ye shall receive eh? Seems to be the norm on TB in my short time posting here. :)

Now as for other options I do like tort for any natural body and 3-ply black with a rosewood board & 3-ply white with a maple one. Gold anodized or pearl is alright but kinda blingy for my taste.

What about red pearl? Just a thought.

BESIDES white, black or gold anodized

Hi Wobble :)

my first thought, as the "white" guy, was mint green or mint green pearl.

(stays in mint condition, even after years )

Galvanized steel

...would be the best for metal  = (top resale value on TB classifieds :roflmao:)

and finally....

the LP- pg idea (Zappa rules!!! :D)

Good lord, some hideous suggestions up in here.

My suggestion would be 1-ply black Bakelite fiberboard like you'd find on a vintage Telecaster, like this from Callaham:
Callaham Vintage Guitars and Parts (Callaham Black Fiberboard Bakelite Lacquered 1-ply T Model Pickguard)

Otherwise, leave the Tort. That's the next best (or perhaps THE best option).

Although...I am a sucker for some of the Tor-Tis pickguard patterns. It's a little thinner material (really for acoustic guitars), but you can make it work. I've even had it mounted it on a clear pg material to bring it up to standard pg thickness. I forget if it's available in large enough sheets for a bass though, so you'd have to look into that. Maybe check LMII.

P.S. Everybody knows pearloid sucks tone, so don't be "that" guy.
