PICKGUARD COLOR FOR NATURAL PRECISION?

Two thoughts:

1. Get an old LP you like, and have it cut into one. My Guitarist in college had it done, and it looks so good..

Splendid, would look great on natural.

I have to agree, a black guard on a natural body is a pretty classic look.

Well, the early 70's saw a white PG with natural. Later black. I think both look good. I like the tort, too. Gold anodized is what I have on mine, but mine's no longer natural. If I had to pick one, I'd go with black or something dark.

My inclination would be to say tort, because, well just because.

I have an aged white pearloid on an 80's natural MIJ P bass. Thinking about replacing it with tort, but the white has aged nicely into an amberish.

And then that guy posted the leather pickguard = mind blown!

I play modern stuff and to me the typical black,white, and Tort scream country on a natural finish fender. . Seen carbon fiber p pickgaurds on eBay. Couldn’t find a picture of a pbass with one but i think it looks decent on this Strat.

I like the leather or wood idea. Might as well keep the rustic look if you’re going natural!

Aside from that, I think I’d do black pearl. Black is nice, but it looks a bit boring against a nice wood grain.

I have always liked tort on a natural or butterscotch finish precision (that's what I put on mine because it came with black)....but I also like some kind of pearloid (grey/black is my choice)

asking for opinions while eliminating black as an option is setting yourself up for failure. i vote black. black is good. or black. either one works, IMO.

2. Wood. See if you can find some tiger striped ash.

Trying to imagine an LP pickguard. Does one album suffice? Is the record label preserved? If so, I am thinking something on Apple...or Zapple!

However you want to do it. But yeah, the label would be what I want. Make sure you put some poly on it to preserve it.
