Pickguard color for orange bass?

I've been wanting an orange bass with a black guard for a while. Something about that look does it for me. Admittedly I put black guards on all of my basses that have guards. Also, I worked for a company with the corporate color orange for thirty years until I retired. I own a ton of orange stuff. (I was brain washed!)

Black and orange is a natural for me.

I have a partso in the making, p-bass style- bright orange color. Rosewood neck.

What looks good on an orange bass? Most pics ive found seem to have tortoiseguards.

Suggestions?

I'd go matte black or try to find some kind of textured black, diamond plate or something like that.

To my tastes white is too contrasty. White pearl is fine though. Tort is surprisingly good too.


For the ultimate clash go bright red.
