Pickguard for a sunburst bass?

I really agree that parchment looks best, especially with the darker bursts. Tort is so common and black shows every print and swirl.

IME, not that much more. I don't know why, but white/parchment just doesn't look good to me in general. Swapped out the PG on my MIA jazz for the same reason:

I think this looks much better than the stock white PG it came with. (yes it's not a sunburst, I'm just trying to illustrate a point)

My jazz is a brown sunburst with a white pickguard. I'm not too keen on the stock white, so I'm looking for a different kind to put on it. One guy at a shop told me gold would look good on it but I'm not too sure about that. Looking for something that will compliment the bass but not stand out (Like a guy I know who had a neon green guard on a red j bass). What do you think would look good? Open to all suggestions.

EDIT: Sorry if this thread's not in the right place, I'm not sure where it would go.

RW board? Definitely brown tort or Brown/Gold Pearloid

Maple board? Brown/Gold Pearloid or White Pearloid or Black or Black Pearloid

Here's my idea of a Brown/Gold Pearloid
