Pickguard Opinions

Hopefully this is ok to post in this section. Mods, please move it if it should be elsewhere.

I have a fender jazz 24 v in flat black and I want to put a pickguard on it. Just needs something to break up all the black to me. I can't decide which shape to go with, since I can't just use a normal jazz pg, so I thought I'd ask y'all. I'm looking at these options.

Cowpoke Bass style

Cabronita style

Other Jazz bass

I'm also open to any suggestions anyone has. Also trying to decide color. Looking at mint, white/black pearl, or some kind of gold (not solid) possibly.

edit: for those who don't know what a jazz 24 v looks like, here's a picture to save you the google time.

Warmoth has a guard materiel they call Blue Shell that would look good against a flat black body. They make a lot of different precut guards so maybe you could find something that would be workable. Don't know if they would custom cut you a guard, or sell you a blank to do your own though.

Go here and check out the blue shell option.

As far as the actual style and cut of the guard, I like the Cabronita look, definitely. Leave a lot of that classic flat black of the Jazz body exposed!

For color, I do like classic cream (maybe as a 3-ply) with black...maybe even mint...but I always thought black-red tort-rosewood looked timelessly hot.
