Hey Bud,

Have you built any Gazelle basses yet? If so I would love to see what that body style looks like in a real picture. I'm wondering how one of those would do with a set of Darkstar's...

The top is koa, with a wenge accent. The guy who I'm building the bass for sent me a set of GHS pressure wounds specifically, so that's what's going on it.

OK ... I'm guilty ... I like GHS "Pressurewounds"



... Go ahead and try some flats though just to test it if you want ... might be a cool sound.

Not yet. With Dark Stars? We can find out. That idea lends itself to a bound, flat top Rickenbacker vibe in my mind. Alder body with a black dyed flamed maple top and a white binding...and lots of chrome. What say you?

Hmmm, but how would a GZL-5 look with dual DarkStars in a mahogany body, and metallic silver flake with a maple neck and silver flake headstock and all chrome hardware? But yeah, your idea would probably be much better...

A heavy flake with some black and white pinstripes and an African ebony fingerboard would be very cool.

Cool 8. Is the "bridge" om the bass horn going to be full depth, or will it be "contoured out" to leave a horn shape resembling the TRX?

Nah, like a donut. The ash body is going to get dyed green.
