I feel very blessed. I think this has been a long time coming. Finally a lot of things came together very rapidly that put me in the position I'm in know. Sometimes I'll be out in the shop thinking to myself, "I can't believe I'm actually doing it". I know I still have a long road ahead of me, but I feel like I'm really focused and I really want this to work. I really love building and hope the fire stays lit for a long time.

I have no tools (and I mean NO tools!!!) and I'm working on mine and about the time ...a few less hours of sleeping are not going to kill me!!! And about the money you can start building a bass with not expensive stuff.

Just be careful! Tiredness is a common cause of injury. I learned this last week that even a screwdriver is a dangerous tool, if you're tired. I managed to jab it through my thumbnail. You can NEVER be too careful. It's worth taking longer to do things, just to be safe.

A flat blade screwdriver can be at least as dangerous as a power tool.

This is my job now. I should have been done weeks ago. I've still got at least one more round of clear to shoot on that bass. The cold weather is seriously holding up the show....and a couple of NAMM basses.

The top is koa, with a wenge accent. The guy who I'm building the bass for sent me a set of GHS pressure wounds specifically, so that's what's going on it.

well, I guess I'll have to get one myself then for the LaBella's.

I just would love to hear those strings on a DS bass with a pup in the neck position such as that.

I like the way the bottom of the neck heel follows the countour of the faux pickguard! It's little details like that one that set you apart from the mass-produced masses. Sweet!

+1, further authentic evolution of the progressive master luthier. I asked if he would cover up (veneer) the front heel stripes and he raised me one on that detail.

Bud is in a long term "zone" now IMO. I doubt any will catch him from here.
