Now I want a more deep/old P bass sound. So I'm thinking of another Lecompte with a P\J set up (Nordstrand) with and alder body. Probably an ebony finger board.

These are going to the same customer. Almost done. Just waiting on a some switches. The one on the left is something he came up with. He wanted something really traditional with a hint of custom. It'll be filed under "Special Projects".
It's hard to tell in the photo, but the fingerboards are bookmatches from the same piece as well as being positioned the same on the basses.
Both basses have the same pickups and electronics and the woods are very similar. Both are ash bodies with the one on the right having a walnut accent, maple top and wenge neck stringers. The one on the left has bubinga stringers. All else is the same. Should make an interesting comparison.
