Pino... is there anything he can't play?

I have to admit.....the Mini Cooper thing caused me to blow coffee all over my keyboard....well played sir, well played.
Stir in Michael Rhodes and Nathan East and I'm right there with you. Those four have covered a lot of ground.....a LOT of ground.
His absence from game night aside, Pino is a fantastic bassist with impeccable feel, timing, tone, and taste. There may be some things he can't play but I'll bet the Venn diagram of that stuff completely overlaps the things that shouldn't be played for a particular song.
What I would love to see him play, however, is a tiny short scale bass since he is so tall. That would be a hilarious image.

I think that's hilarious that some of you think that he can't do those things just because he hasn't done them in the past.

how about on D'angelo's _Black Messiah_? yeah, some tasty flourishes here and there--but mostly restrained lines that (imho) serve the songs very well.
I've been spending a little bit of time the last few days trying to figure out his lines and play along on John Mayer Trio's Where the Light Is live set. I'm almost through one song: "Who did you think I Was". It's a good work out...
That cat grooves. I would relish playing sax over his groove on anything.
I bet he can play those things. I've seen him slapping on a fretless Stingray in the 80's. I bet if he sat down for an afternoon, he could play any of those styles.
@DerekW - never mind some of these people on here. Yeah, Pino is a legend and breadth of his work is second to none. I think of him as almost as the Welsh version of Nathan East. Just a bad##s Mofo. I don't think a lot of people (and players) even realize how many albums he's played on.
