Pizza Toppings

Me and the wife go for "death by cured meat" combo. Bacon, pepperoni, ham, spicy sausage. Really want to up the ante throw in raw jalapenos. Good going down but you will hate yourself in the morning, take it easy on the coffee the next day or it could get ugly.

I'll stick to coffee for that. Fire in, good. Fire out, bad. :D

Good pizza starts with the crust, which I have spent the most time getting down. Gotta cook it on a pizza stone with a little bit of olive oil and corn meal on the stone. Thin crust. Once you have that down, everything else is easy.

I like BBQ sauce, then toss on some asparagus, peppers, garlic and onion sautéed with chopped bacon. Top it off with mozzarella and feta and you have one amazing pizza.

The higher the heat the better the pizza, my oven only goes to 500F, which isn't quite high enough. Once we have a house, I am planning on building a wood fired pizza oven that will get closer to 700F.

We have one place around here that does a great baked potato pizza (potato slices, sour cream, bacon etc), another that does spaghetti and meatball pizza (with the pasta under the cheese), and another that does a mean buffalo chicken. It isn't even 7 am and I want that buffalo chicken pizza. Thanks guys.

There used to be a Vancouver pizzeria, I think named Pizzarello's. They used to sell the pizza pie with the top crust. The pizza I used to buy had spinach, egg, feta and a bunch of other toppings (which I cannot recall at the moment.) It was $20 but it was delicious & I loved it. However, every time I ate it, I had the most bizarre dreams. (I think I even woke up with a rapid heartbeat. lol) BUT I still miss that pizza. I even tried to search online for a copy of their old take out menu (to find the complete ingredients listing) but I was unsuccessful.

Might've been the mushrooms they were using.

the crust looks good

It's very good. Thin, slight chew to it. They have a brick wood-burning oven there so I think they only need to cook it for a minute or so to get it perfect.

That place is amazing in general; if any of you guys ever come to Philly, I strongly recommend it (no affiliation, just a fan).

My faves from there are the grilled octopus, that asparago pizza, and the salted caramel budino for dessert .

A pierogie pizza is pizza crust with mashed potatoes, onions, cheddar cheese, and topped with mozzarella cheese.
