Yes please! Number me![]()
Anyone else wanting a number just say the word!
In my reign as admin there will be but two rules to comply with in order to become a member:
All members are members for life unless they ask to be removed.
- You must post a picture of your bass with a PJ pickup configuration, any body style as long as it has a split p and a single coil.
- You must ask for a number in the post (no need to send me a private message). If you post a pic but don't ask for a number, I'll assume you don't want one.

What did I just buy?
Found it on the GC used site for cheap.
Used Parts Pj Walnut Electric Bass Guitar
Looks like an MIJ power jazz bass special neck and some kind of body. Odd PJ spacing. And the P pickup looks wider than normal. Pretty cool lookin though, right?

Oooh, Monday morning impulse buys.

Nice one! Curios about that P pickup.
I'll find out on Wednesday probably. It's coming from Indiana to New York. It does look like a P though. If the body does what it's supposed to do, a fretted neck will be in order. I've come to accept my complete and hopeless inability to play fretless. I didn't realize when I bought it at 6 this morning that it was defretted.Well, it's a reversed Split-Coil P-pickup. Could that be what's making it look "off"?
Question, Mon Capitaine; Is that Power Jazz Special neck a J-width nut or P-width? At a glance, it looks like a P-neck.

Check out this wackiness that someone posted for me in the jazz bass special thread:

It would be shame to waste all that goodness with my horrific fretless intonation skills.
I'd be happy with that!OK, just assembled my first P/J. Squier VM P body, Squier VM 77 neck. EMG Geezer pickups. Semi-custom on a budget, and loving it so far

I just threw this one together for a pickup testbed.

MIM Deluxe Active P-bass Special body, beater Am Special neck, Fender HM bridge, Allparts pickguard, misc hardware. Trying out EMG Geezer pups right now.
Very Nice. I love the binding and blocks. I'm also strongly considering the Geezers for my LTD, but the stock pups seem quite powerful.View attachment 684298My Squier modded bass with Chris Aiken neck, Affinity PJ body and BAII bridge. Going to add Aguilar pickups or EMG Geezers Later on....sounds great right now though!!!
