PJ Club

My colorblindness just couldn't go for the stock gold pickguard. But after that change out I've loved everything about my 2004 MIM Deluxe Precision Bass Special! May I get a Club number?

I should update my input to this thread. I have kept, sold and bought PJs since I initially posted. Currently the PJs are looking like this...

Gone is the early 90s Ibanez SR500 that I had fitted with EMGs.
That was sold to my neighbors kid for the price of a MUCH lower quality instrument. She got a deal and from what I can hear, is playing the strings off of it.

I kept the SR480, it's going nowhere. While I typically prefer a precision bass neck, Every now and then the slim soundgear neck is just what the old fingers want... The bass was new in 2003, and still has the original strings, which somehow have NOT gone dead yet. Go figure. I guess I should play it more...

My SX Ursa 3 MN 3TS ALD. Alder body, 3 tone sunburst. It is presently getting the neck swapped to an SX Maple lined fretless neck. It is getting a set of D'Addario Semi Flats...

And the bass I bought to actually do the fretless conversion on, but has since convinced me by playing it that doing anything but putting good strings on, and playing the snot out of this bass would be a waste. My SX Ursa 3 RN 3TS ALD. That neck is just soooo perfect! A little Dunlop fingerboard oil and it's just perfect... It's bee since strung with D'Addario nickel rounds.

Killer bass G-Dog...love that Chrome Red and pearloid pickguard!

Thank you, Thundar. I had ordered the blue finish available at that time, because I thought it went better with the gold guard. When this beautiful Chrome Red was delivered to the store instead, it immediately hurt my eyes! The store offered a free pickguard change if I would take this one (they musta got a deal on it) and showed me several. That pearloid made the Chrome really sparkle, so I've got the original gold pg (somewhere) if I ever decide to sell.

Interesting choice for pickups!

just fitted a mighty mite jazz neck after staining and oiling it several times, could prolly use more but hoping it will "honey up" after several yrs. added abalone dot inlay on the bottom 3 dots, as an experiment..came out ok if done with patience, will finish the rest in time

Only bass I have made in India

Not a blemish I can find on it. Finish is first rate. Looks like Wilkinson hardware all around which I’m guessing is MIC.
Controls all check out with smooth operation and no crackling or static.

Neck is thin and feels great though I’d rather have a satin finish on the back of the neck than the gloss finish.

Worth every penny or shilling

Can you pick out my special request item? Think Fender MIA GL and you should be able to figure it out

Thanks Steve @chowny !

Now to lock myself in the house and woodshed all day!!!!!
