PJ Club

Aerodyne P’s...as in “plural”. There are two of those lovely creations bookending all those P/J’s.

By George you're right! Didn't even pay attention to it. Blue was my favorite, I remember it being the first Fender that I liked when I played one in a store way back in high school...still regret not buying it back then. It was there for a couple years but I had no idea it was "rare" even new... Now I'm kicking myself. One day I'll pick one up, probably the best Fender branded PJ made IMO.

Just bought a new Fender Special Edition Deluxe PJ from MF. I ordered it in olympic white, my second one intending to convert it black hardware, but instead was shipping a new bass in buttercream...yummy!

I asssume this counts? 2018 JAGUAR PJ. First PJ ever. Pics are before fret polish/oil board and DR low riders on her. Used came with a black kickass bridge and WD black pickguard and case. Will play with the settings of the pups next practice. 8.8 lb. The stock strings were pretty blah last time.

It reminds me of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, so the most appropriate thing I can say is, "Sweet!"

And yeah, it definitely counts. ;)

I'm a fan of Pj, I've an Aria ProII PJ FB series (cliff Burton), I've had a Pjrev (that I prefer) and I'm waiting a Mikro that is coming. Can I join this Group?
Hi guys i want to be part of this Club! according to your expert opinion, what is the best PJ?

In my opinion PJReverse is best option. Good PJ Bass are Yamaha BB (734 in my opinion the best of the serie but not bad 434 or if you can afford the mirable BBP), Mikro or Talman Ibanez, or Mezzo that is new, Fender PJ or the Sandberg VM that is not a J but a HP, Sadowsky Metroliner PJ. All good in different price point or customizing all the Maruszczyck could be PJ I suggest the Jake not a lot of better bass at this price point

Thanks! What about F Bass VF pj?

I want a classic PJ active/passive
That does narrow down the field a bit, but what I meant was do you want a P/J in a Jazz or Precision body and neck? So, for example…
  • If you want a Jazz bass platform with a P/J configuration that comes with active/passive electronics as a stock feature, I'd strongly suggest finding a used Fender Reggie Hamilton Jazz.
  • If you want a Precision body P/J, but don't mind a Jazz's nut-width, maybe check out a Sire Marcus Miller P7.
  • If you want a Precision body and neck, there are the Fender American Ultras and MIM Deluxe P's. Both can switch between active and passive. However, the Deluxe models have a much more modern neck (re: a 12" radius fretboard) and the Ultras have a compound radius neck (10" to 14" radius).
What kind of budget are you working with and what brand(s) most catch your interest?

Thanks for the information. My budget is 1000-1300 max! I love fender! I've been watching F Bass VF but it's out of my budget.

Lot of good choices in that range. I have a Fender Ultra Precision [my first PJ] and love it
New you have Fender Performer[passive only], Yamaha BB34; American G&L SB2, [can get them discounted 15%]
Used Fender Elite Precision and many I can't think of right now.
The F bass VF is Jazz or P from info I got.
