I don't get it. I realize this is supposed to be humorous, but when he said your bass was "Player's Grade"; is that somehow an insult?

Would have been an insult about a Fender, huge compliment on a Gibson.

No, that thing has a big ol' pickup that's placed pretty well for that. Don't know if drummer's mom has a ramp but speculation of that sort woulda got me punched. I'm a sizable dude but he is a kickboxer.

I thought the "Players grade" basses were the MIM Fender basses? So it would be a dig to your Gibson. He would basically be saying your Gibson wasn't any better than the comparable Epiphone.

You don't want someone telling you your mom is vintage but kinda beat up & has many aftermarket modifications but is still desirable, but her resale value is diminished. We are not polite men, generally speaking.

Man, I'm so busy with my day job doing biological experiments that, whenever I see "express", I think of my bacteria producing proteins I need. I wish there were an "expression pedal" in my lab and my bacteria could have an "expressive overdrive"!
