Did Ric ever do a McCartney model? I guess the dilemma would be do you do it in Fireglo or a stripped maple or do you do the psychedelic paint job?
The c64 I just had is the unofficial McCartney signature Ric - it does come in Mapleglo - the headstock is reversed, it has a zero fret, body horns have been shaved down like the original. I think there's one on ebay right now

Hey man! I was hoping you'd show up, I haven't owned a 4004 series, always wanted a Jetglo Laredo though but the $$$ always went towards the 4001 or 4003 series. I know you're a big fan of them though.

Amazing neck, high output Toaster, long headstock, just-right neck width + the vermillion fingerboard and wings kill me it sounds perfect.
I told my gal if I ever tried to sell it she has to leave me and / or kick me in the pants in no particular order - because she is sick of listening to me talk about getting a Chris Squire signature bass someday!

Thank you for all the good vibes and well-wishers - I dropped off this thread because when I finally got a chance to sit down and play the bass at home the day after the thread was posted - I realized the neck was VERY TWISTED at about a 15 degree angle, the bass is still here but my friend who facilitated the deal is trying to iron this out with the buyer via Paypal (who knew the neck was twisted and is hiding behind the "Sold as-is" line)
Needless to say I am devastated, I gave up a handful of amazing basses at a loss to get my hands on this thing.
That being said, I don't want anyone here to wind up getting taken by this guy so please PM me if you have questions.

That blows, Ozzie! I'm not sure how these 'people' sleep at night... I wish you a speedy resolution, and that it's in your favor! If you got it for a great deal, may be worth saving the neck, making it whole, again?
I'm fine with 'sold, as is', as long as the seller admits the deficiencies... if he didn't, I'm thinking PayPal should cover...

Thanks brother, I tried to reach out to two very reputable Ric repair guys and they advised against it - cost and potential of it returning. Also, when a "new" bass shows up with problems right away I can never get into it again...
Fingers crossed it works out. I am on the hunt for something cool to replace it hopefully
