Plywood instruments...worthless?

I set up a new blog for this project. I'll probably use it for other ones as well, but this is the most documented one. I backdated all the entries on it so everything is there from beginning to end. I had been keeping a daily log of it in Word so I just copied most of it over. I figured since a couple people mentioned wanting to see how it comes out, they can see the whole process in more detail than I've posted about on here.

I'm sure some of the more experienced folks here will find some things are not the best methods, but I haven't done much work with wood before I started this. I'm still very much on the learning curve! I'm having fun though, and it's coming out pretty nice.

There's still a good amount of finish work to be done on the neck. That's currently in progress.

I need some opinions on what to do on the headstock. The neck is painted, purple back and black headstock face. I sanded the neck 600-800-1000-1500-2000 and buffed it so it's looking pretty good. I want a nice smooth surface with as little sanding scratches as possible so that when I put the clear on it looks good. Slight paint type mismatch as I discussed in another thread.

Anyhow, Before I start the clear I want to put the headstock decal on. I still need to get one. I'm not sure what to put on it though. Should I put one on it like I do with my own basses that I paint the headstocks on (which is my initials in a Fender-ish type font)? Or get one with her name on it? I seem kind of lost on what would be good or what would be too tacky. Any ideas??

Well I finally got time amongst the bunch of other projects I've got going to finish this baby up. I figured I'd do one last update in case anyone following this wants to see the end!

I'm happy with how it came out! Better than I expected. It plays great now and sounds great as well. It ended up being a little heavier than I'd have liked but it's not too bad, probably about 9.5 lbs. I also updated the blog I've been using for this project if you want to see it done step by step. I'll also be using this blog for future projects as well. I wish blogspot had a way to actually split them up, but it serves the purpose well enough.
