I *had* a Squier Affinity P... cool simple little bass. Looked good in CAR with black pickguard and hardware too. I gave it to a coworker a couple years ago. (so he got a free Fender, and I've been Fender-free since...)

*almost forgot, I also have an 80's MIJ Squier Strat... it's loaned out to another guitar-playing buddy. Great little guitar. Got it from a fellow TB'r too.

maybe not...

In my 26 years of playing I've never owned s Fender. I never cared for them as I found the necks too big and I have small hands. I've owned Ibanez and Spector basses over the years but the bass company that does it for me is Warwick.

they make great products, so fat I own 2 Warwick Thumbs that our my pride and joy. A Warwick vampyre Rock bass and a Warwick alien acoustic.

My first bass was "Fender related"
A pre-EBMM '79 "Walnut"Sabre.

Fender didn't make what I wanted.
Which was natural dark wood with a satin finish,no pickguard and with gold hardware.
All I saw was paint, pickguard and chrome.
That's generic and common.

Until 2000.
Then I saw a P-Bass Lyte Deluxe.
Finally!
Natural dark wood with a satin finish,no pickguard and with gold hardware.

Owned it four four years. Then sold it.

In spite of all the "WOW Fender!!"sentiment that I hear out there,I couldn't really say that it was any better that any bass that I play now.
To each his own.

And besides.
Fender will NEVER EVER produce these!

I've had a MusicMan Sabre since I received it as a birthday gift on my 17th birthday in 1979. They'll have to bury it with me or cremate it with me. I'm jonesing real bad for a Fender Mustang PJ in Torino Red with that off white kinda creamy pickguard but I'm as poor as a church mouse. However, I am accepting donations.

Guilty, 1 USA Deluxe Jazz, 1 customized MIM deluxe Jazz (blacked out with a Warmoth
ebony/maple neck), 1 Pbass (that seafoam pearl special edition with the p/j pups, bought
the body loaded with Geezer pups and BAII bridge from TB'er Nickfromny, and attached
the rosewood/maple neck from the MIM Jazz deluxe custom fretless), An '87 L2k, and
my next build a fiesta red p fretless is in the works.
