i play every day. what i play varies, so actual practice time also varies. but i have to address an instrument daily...and for me, it's multiple times per day. the older i get the more i realize that i cannot take my abilities (music and other stuff! :D ) for granted.

so i voted "7," but i might have to 'downgrade' the number if "practice" was defined differently than suggested in the OP. most of my stuff is for maintenance. very little is for getting ahead.

I also touch the instrument every day. My life is really full, so on a good day it's an hour, one day per week it may only be 10 min. Weekends I can usually make more than an hour to practice.

I voted 5-6 as an average, the reality is anywhere from 4 to 7. Depends on what I have coming up. If there's a show or recording, or if I'm writing stuff, then I'll play (in a focused way) daily for anywhere from 45 minutes to a few hours. If there's nothing pressing, or if I have a ton of other work to do, I may wind up missing a couple days. I try to practice both bass and guitar in a day, but sometimes one of them needs to take the back seat.

I do 3 bands on bass and 1 smaller project on guitar. So I play Everyday, I always do 60 minutes as a minimum, more if time/schedule allows it. I never go over 2 hours, I feel I achieve nothing good after that much practice time. With a day job - since I'm no rock star - well it takes a bit of scheduling to get my music going. On weekends, I like to practice before 10 am, it's probably where I am most productive. I'm a morning guy.
