I use a couple of pedals that don't work very well with most active electronics (a Woolly Mammoth fuzz for example). That and I would like to avoid batteries as much as possible.

OP here! I finally bought a Peavey T-40 in mint condition. The bass sounds amazing and although the pickups are pretty hot it works nicely with my pedals! Thank you guys for your input!!!

Everyone I've heard that has played a Peavey T-40 has nothing but positive things to say about them. I'm going to have to check one out.
