If you are looking for an amp then get yourself a budget and try a load of amps. Then come back here with a shortlist and ask questions re reliability, how do they work in certain sized locations how do they work in music styles, will it keep up with your guitarists overpowered amp

For me, this rig is tone heaven. The Ashdown really adds a pinch of low end tube warmth that I wasn't able to get out of the Eden otherwise...

Carvin R600 into a 410 and a 118 (all Carvin). I like this brand because you can order all their stuff factory direct for a fraction of the retail price of most other brands. The 410 has great tone definition, and the head has a very user-friendly eq system. I must say, though, that if you're going for that gut punching bass (perhaps you play a lot of slap), that this setup sounds perfect when the 118 is replaced by an swr sub of some sort (I tried this with a working man's 15 last week).

the 15 in the Eden couldn't hang, it flapped all over the place if I turned it up (I have a very hot bass). I replaced the 15 with a Carvin 400W PS15C and it thumps so good now!

Heh, right now it's a gk400rb-III running into an extended series 4 ohm ampeg 410hlf. The stingray sounds rad through this setup

1976 Ampeg SVT into an SWR Goliath III. Soon to be an Ampeg SVT 410 HLF. I love SWR gear but the Ampeg cab just goes with the amp. It roars. The SVT is the ultimate bass amp. (AFAIC, of course...)

Right now I'm using a Ampeg SVT-3 Pro and a Hartke 2.5XL and 410XL usually individually. Rarely together.

I recently had the pleasure of standing in front of a Goliath III, and I think it's just a matter of time till I have to get one.
