I just bought (today) a Roland FP-30 for my daughter from Grand Strand Piano Center.
They match internookie pricing and the owner even threw in a $40 multi-stage damper pedal gratis, and delivered it all for free to boot.
Hard to beat that kind of service.

Musicians Friend - watch for sales - free shipping... I buy a fair bit from Sweetwater - don't care for the 'stalking' salesman... I told 'my guy' that the calls (especially when I buy a mic clip) were a bit much... he stopped calling

Didn't think of this till now.
Bass and related equipment in my area is either terrible or over priced, so most purchases are online. The big ticket items always worry me but they have all worked out great. I will say my only horror story is ordering a bass directly from a company and it arriving postage due.
Of all the companies I have ordered from online, being as anti social as I am, I find Sweetwater's customer service level intrusive. Most people would enjoy it I guess, but it really rubs me the wrong way. Though even the demo stuff I have bought from them has been flawless and arrives next day going ground so I can't really complain.
