It's definately an overdrive but the EHX LPB-1 is so nice sounding. Just the right amount of dirt and it's extremely transparent.

I agree with that choice but only the original Juggernaut used by Wyzard and Larry Graham, not this newer version Juggernaut Rat. They're two different pedals entirely.

Fulltone Bass-Drive and Sansamp GT-2 are tied for me, it just depends on what sound I'm after at the time. The Fulltone is smooth and organic, but still NASTY, and I use the GT-2 to emulate playing through a cranked Marshall.

Although the only other one I have personally compared this one to was the Boss ODB-3 pedal, and the Boss Mega Distortion pedal for guitar... And I like the Boss' a lot as well.

it's a completely different circuit. the latest version of the Juggernaut is a Rat that is optimized for bass. the original was not.

The only two pedals on my board at the moment (as well as Boss TU-2) are guitar distortion pedals but work so well with on bass:

They compliment each other better than any other 2 pedals i have ever tried to create a colossal 3rd distortion. IMO, the 2 best pedals ever built.
