Pondering Some New Ideas, Need Some Input

Unlikely to build a HORIZONTAL 410, that would end up being more of a low park bench format ;)

Yo...

So it took more than a year from teasing a photo of the prototype to launch. I wonder what is on the bench now. So I’m guessing we’ll see in *27.
I find that surprisingly quick (including the industrial process, certification, marketing…).
If there's a tube amp on the bench for a 2027 release, I should start saving money right away. ;)
I've already financed a dream bass by quitting smoking.
I should stop drinking right now and save for a Mesa Bass 100T in 2027

I’ll tell you what… I’d buy a Bass 100t in 2027. Just be sure it’s got an FMV tone stack and I’m in.

They should make a cabinet that the D-350 docks into. I'd love a one handed capable combo.
As much as I have poo pooed the idea of a combo. One of my favorite grab and go combos was a 100 watt Carvin PB 100 110. I could do gigs with that thing. I could see the D350 as is but add some single 110 cabs based on the 10s in use in the 210, 410 cabinets. You could use up to two, or any 8 ohm, 4 ohm speaker in the line (at the 4 ohm limit of course👍)

Well, DJ, I already have a D-350 so I'm being self-serving. I'm bad like that. 😉

I would get one if there was a 10 cabinet to pair with it. My thing is I’m afraid that with a head strapped on it, I would be banging it around through doorways. The head in the bag over the shoulder and the cab in hand I have a chance at not wrecking anything. ☺️

I gigged with one of those many, many times. Such a little powerhouse.

Personally I am not interested in any combos… but would love to see a couple of new tube amps
I don’t know the current availability of 6L6 tubes but if they are available and of good quality, I would suggest a 100 watt head with 4 tubes and a 200 watt head with 8 6L6’s.
And both of them being able to be switched to half power like the prodigy did.
If only one of those would be available, I would prefer the 100/50 watt .
Am I dreaming?

I latched on to one after seeing a band at Universal Studios theme park. The bassist was playing through an SWR Baby Blue. On the same trip we went to San Diego and I had stopped in at a Carvin store. Player through the PB 100 and the thought it has a similar vibe as the Baby Blue but at the budget price point of Carvin. The store had them on sale so I got one but had it shipped to my house. After I got home, it showed up.
😊

You already know this thread, don't you?

Probably but I’m right there with you. Over the years Ive discoverer that I really like the sound of 6l6 tubes, especially over 6550 tubes. Also I took a tiny break from tube heads and quickly went back currently running a 400+ but it would be nice to have 1/2 or 2/3 less tubes to worry about.

Half power more was great in my old Prodigy. Also the form factor was perfect.

100-200 watts from 6L6 tubes
Fully tube eq section
1/2 power option
Lunchbox form factor
Styling of the 400/D180
FMV tone stack (I know Andy isn’t the biggest fan of this for bass but I love it)
2 ohm stable
<50 lbs

If not, I’ll just rebadge a Fender Bassman 100t 🤣

I don't mean mounted on top ala Genzler. I mean inserted into the cab.
Less chance of whacking it. I don't really consider the Genzler a combo amp. YMMV
In fact, I might have purchased the Magellan combo if it was an integrated unit as opposed to a bracket holding the head on. I think it's just not a commitment to why people want a Combo. I don't envision myself removing the head to use with other cabs. Otherwise, I'll just use my separates. I honestly think MarkBass combos are the most thoughtful and varied. And I may go that way for a combo if an American company that I fancy doesn't produce something enticing.
