Post something "funky"

And gen x happened in between and gave us metal, punk, post punk, grunge and hip hop

Edit: plus indie/alternative especially in the 90s.
A lot of the above genres have funky songs in there occasionally, sometimes often
Actually, metal and punk were solidly in the 70s, hip hop in the 80s. The 90s gave us a lot of derivatives, very little originality. To where we are today, with music so formulized and generic that it's basically, pull a girl singer in off the corner, fire up the autotune and push the button that makes her a star.

But no one ever accused a millennial nor a genxer of knowing anything about history.

With the exception of grunge, all those genres originated with Boomers, granted a good number toward the younger end of the age spread. To pinpoint the begining of grunge is a whole different debate, but if you were to peg Green River/Mudhoney, you have Mark Arm, born in ‘62, so technically a boomer. So, what axe is it you have to grind? Zoomers are already making fun of Gen X. BTW, that taunt is so two years ago.
