Here is my latest and perhaps last setup before a new pedal coming in today takes over. I was using the filter after fuzz for awhile, never tried it before, til about a week ago, the filter reacts way better. It heats up the fuzz and cuts through the mix like a warm knife through butter!

Okay, I've got the most recent incarnation of my pedalboard done. Here are a few pics:

All of the pedals are MIDI controlled and the Gordius Little Giant controls all of them and the rack gear. The only thing that gets stomped on besides it and the expression pedal and Boss footswitch that's attached to it is the Xotic X-Blender- all of the pedals and the Boss VF-1 are in the X-Blender's loop. There's a few things hidden from sight- there's one 4-loop MIDI pedal controller underneath the Pitchfactor, and there's another one underneath the rack gear- you can see it poking out behind the Bass Big Muff. Here's everything that's in it:

MIDI is short for musical instrument digital interface. It basically lets any instruments, effects, etc. that are MIDI-capable talk to and usually control each other. One benefit is that it can simplify your controls- I can use my one MIDI controller to control all of my effects, which allows me to hang some on the bottom of my rack as I don't need to step on them. You can also program MIDI commands to do different things: for example, I can have a single footswitch on my MIDI controller turn one effect on when I step on it, and then program it to turn on five other effects the second time I step on the same switch. I can use one expression pedal to control different parameters of my any effect that allows MIDI control rather than having an expression pedal plugged into each one. You can use MIDI sync to synchronize different time-based effects, although I haven't gotten into syncing stuff like that yet.

MIDI can be very confusing and like a foreign language at first, but it's actually pretty simple once you get used to it.
