This was Friday night at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point. We played with Marc Ford (former lead guitarist of The Black Crowes, Burning Tree, Marc Ford & The Neptune Blues Club, Jefferson Steelflex, Fuzz Machine and Marc Ford & The Sinners. Jim Wilson played bass (Rollins Band among others) and Phil Jones on drums (toured with Tom Petty and was the drummer on Tom Petty's "Freefallin", "I Won't Back Down", and "Runnin' Down A Dream", and most of "Full Moon Fever.") This was our first time playing an event at the Ocean Institute and they have invited us back, so I guess we did okay. I don't have any photos from while playing but here’s a photo they took of us with the event promoter right after our set.

This was a fun, but grueling boot-camp style filler gig for just myself, guitarist and drummer from main band. Last week Wednesday and Thursday. 10AM to 8PM. 2 bands, alternating 1 hour sets / 1 hour breaks.
(I told our drummer to remove half the speakers when I got there, but he's a bit of a show off!)
This is a place called the Stonehouse Saloon, halfway between Sturgis, SD and Hulett, WY. It is a biker destination and a full family run operation. Food is spectacular- smoked hamburgers, hand-made patties from their own ranch cattle. Other band is playing in this pic, but as you can imagine, with a 10n hour gig, not too many friends and family around to take pics of us on stage!

Parking guidance and general monitoring of the venue is done the old fashioned way - on horseback! Visitors love to see actual cowboys on horses. This is one taking a break just outside the T-shirt shack in the morning.

One of the several gigs we did last week, all related to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Posted the Loud American Jack Daniels stage pics in the long running, 3 part "check in here after your gig" thread. As mentioned there, this was part of a 7 day straight run - almost 30 sets in that week, so my fingertips are hard as knuckles.
