I recently purchased a used Turser JTB 401 ('54 P-bass copy). Just strung it with chromes and it sounds great! It came with a Duncan QP.
I would like to put a black pickguard on it, and would like to hear from any JTB 401 owners who have replaced their pickguard. Are there any aftermarket, Fender or Squier guards that will fit this without surgery? I don't mind drilling a few screw holes in the body if they don't line up. I'm just concerned about it lining up with the neck pocket, control plate, pickup and body in general.

I just picked up a cream colored JTB 401. This is one nice sounding bass for next to nothing. From one of the other 401 threads the pickguard is non standard size as the pickup is not in the exact same place as the the Fender/Squier.

Thanks all ! It really wasn't intentionally meant to be creepy.

I have been toting that crate around for over 20 years. In spite of it being older than dirt, it was in pristine condition for its age. Kind of sentimental.

I chose it because of the huge American on the front. The embalming part makes it interesting.
