Post Your Boutique D.I. Here

My boutique DI is a Manley Tube DI. I love it. There is a variable impedance/HPF switch that comes in handy for certain sounds/uses, but it's a pretty straight forward DI.

My fancy bells-and-whistles boutique mic pre/DI is a Grace Designs Felix, which is primarily used for double bass, though it sounds great with electric, and I actually prefer the Felix for fretless over a REDDI.

Live (when amp'd), the DI on my Trickfish Bullhead 1k is fantastic and gets used most of the time for electric bass (Felix for DB 99% of the time).

I have this Broughton P15. Sold my REDDI after I got it. Used it in the studio, used playing out, use it at home. It's the secret sauce.

The Telefunken and the Finally are my favorites for the moment. Can’t quite justify anything much nicer. But maybe one day I’ll get a man’s DI like some of the big boxes on this thread.

Very happy with the Telefunken at the end of my chain though. The low mid clarity is my jam.

About as boutique as it gets: Most of the direct bass tracks that get recorded in my home studio go through the front-panel instrument inputs on this Demeter VTMP-2b tube microphone preamp:

Though occasionally, for a slightly different color (and always for live gigs, since this is portable) it goes through my trusty Countryman Type 85 first:
