A couple St Blues basses made in Memphis, TN. Both are equipped with Kent Armstrong pups (s/c jazz). The burst one wears Fender 100ga flats. D'D nickel rounds on the Fiesta one. Killer PJ basses, both.

OK, I will ask the noob bass player question. Why do so many of you have twins, triples, and quads?

Practice vs gigs?
tunings for gigs?
flats vs round wound strings?
4- vs 5-string?
vanity?
nostalgia?
GAS?
'cause I can?

I am curious since I don't really have multiple versions of each saxophone or clarinet type (except alto sax where I still have my old HS/college marching horn in addition to my good horn).

Okay, kidding to the side, I will just answer for myself.

One set of my non-identical twins are (as I said, earlier) a couple of 20 -30 year old Epiphones which were made to compete with Fender's P-Bass and Jazz Bass.

Obviously, that means a different pick-up configuration. What I like about the "Jazz Bass" is it doesn't have that odd shape to the body like the Fender Jazz does.

I also own to SRs. The differences are stark; color, pick-up (quality), ability to truly negate the active electronics (on the one), electronic components (other than pick-ups).

There are a bunch of reasons, obviously.
