Thanks! The G5 is amazing. It IS enormous but for what it does it is stellar. The Boss Volume pedal is the foot controller for the G5, sweeping the decay. I've read that the Deep Impact is "ballsier" than the G5, but from what I've experienced the G5 is crazy ballsy (and the DI doesn't have the option of expression)! The sounds coming from it blow me away every time. At loud volumes it absolutely melts my mind. Crushing synth bass and exceptional tracking in all registers. Having the foot controller adds another layer of insanity. I would highly recommend it if you can afford it and feel OK with giving up about an 8"x11" space to accommodate it

+1 (The pedal is too much fun, especially with a foot controller)

The Pedalrig I was using has been put down- I went rack. This is almost done- I'm just waiting for some extra cable to come in to make a couple longer cables to reduce the clutter in the rack, and I'm waiting on a fuzz to arrive for the one empty spot.

What is that wet box? Is it a blender?
What brand is that yellow cable connected to the xerograph?
Also very curious to see what fuzz you put in that last spot.

The Wet Box (awful name) is indeed a blender. I couldn't use my beloved Xotic X-Blender in this setup, so I found the Wet Box, which is expression pedal controlled. It actually works very well, although the box is plastic, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with sloppy feet. The yellow cable is one of those cheapie TRS cables that come in bags of 10 for just a few bucks- I think it's Musician's Gear. The fuzz is going to be an Iron Ether Oxide fuzz, which will coincidentally sit under my other Iron Ether pedal.

And I don't know about pro...take a look at the back where the pedals plug into the MIDI switchers, and it's not exactly professional-looking

I had a similar experience with the ZCat Hold pedal. Was fun, never used it in the mix.

Have you made a demo for either of the Dwarfcrafts yet? As fun as the videos Aen makes are, I don't have a good idea of how they'd sound.

Yeah- the whole reason I went to this setup was, as compact as the SKB rack/board was, it was very difficult to fix problems, and hard to adjust some of the pedals.

I have not but I need to figure out a way record both the ECT and Shiva. I think I may have just sound but no video and I will post them when they get done.

There is another ECT video floating around thats pretty much accurate to how it sounds on my end. It really is an awesome bass pedal. If you really like a thick low end with heavy fuzz then I have not found one that comes even close.

Oh dear lord,...you couldn't just have the ECT on there you went and put a Shiva along with it. Son you are one step away from dividing by zero.

Bryan,...I could probably record (and will eventually) the Shiva but to be honest with you,...it would probably sound and act different with your gear. Also it would be a hard pedal to demo without a camera,...and,...well I don't have anything better than my laptop mounted webcam.

Mine is pretty simple...

I can't really think of much else that I need.

The silver box is something I made. It is a high-pass filter and low-pass filter on a blend knob. The toggle-switch on the left toggles between the high-pass filter and a bypass (which makes the low-pass filter the only one operating). The red button is a bypass, and the whole thing is passive.

Basically, it is a tone knob. My bass is active and I don't want to drill another hole in it to add a tone knob. I made it so that I could get very mellow, smooth sounds out of my very modern sounding Shecter. For that purpose, it works like a dream.

Obviously, you spare little expense! How about cutting down a little more on clutter & introducing a little uniformity in cabling? Small diameter cabling with small connectors (like George L's) would really tighten things up.

I love your cable loom as well - I keep putting off looming my meager 4 cable bundle...

Amazing stuff. I SO want to try out your board!
