sigh... i'm not a fan of EHX... then they go and make something i've been looking for for a while. and in a tiny enclosure. which i'm ALL about right now.

meanies. i'm picking up a Freeze soon as it gets to my favorite pedal store. they said any day now.

RFord,

Sorry I'm way late to this party. Just wondering what style/songs you use the BMS and POG 2 for. I am gassing for both pedals, and wondering do their sounds overlap, do you ever use both together, or totally different functions? Is the POG 2 your only octaver? Thanks.

No they don't overlap at all.

The BMS is a really analog-sounding synth pedal, the POG is a very VERY digital-sounding synth. To my ears, the POG doesn't really suit bass, it's too thin. Very smooth on the sub-octave but generally a bit digital and chimey and weak.

The BMS on the other hand... whoa! :D

Thanks. I have read up on them in lots of other threads. I was just kind of wondering if RFord (or anyone else) used the POG just for organ sounds for example, or if he used its octaves in conjunction with the BMS's filters, or what have you.

I'm mostly just trying to get some insight into what specific sounds or styles people are using particular boxes for.

Well the Micro POG I have on my board, I use about half of the octave up to thicken up the treble content of sounds before they reach my end filter, so I have something to play with at that end.

But to be honest I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would. I can get practically the same effect without using the POG and also leave more sonic space for other instruments.

I do still use the Micro POG for the original purpose I bought it for though, which is doubling up old-school reggae bass parts with a "guitar" sound. It's not ideal but it sort-of works for that, well enough for live use anyway. But as a synth component I don't like it.

the BMS is probly my favorite single effect. its got sooo many sounds in it that are soooo useful in sooo many situations. it really is amazing. the POG2 is a lot thinner than it could be. i have the HOG as well and it is in general a much better proposition. having said that, i do think that the POG2 and a versatile fuzz in a bypass looper (Boss LS-2 in my case) has incredible potential as a quasi Blue Box and Octavia. except digital. ive yet to try mine on a guitar, but i imagine that there it sounds much better. i like the presets a lot tho. ive thought a lot about modding my BMS to do that.

I still have a perfectly functioning 1st gen Gameboy (with cartridges) that still gets used now and then...it's the only place I can find Donkey Kong Jr. nowadays.

And I'm pretty sure that I'll be getting a Neo Clone...close as I'm gonna get to an analog.man for awhile. Anyone want to buy a Guyatone MC-3?

I though this would look a little more interesting than a shot of my half-filled board and shoes. Unfortunately, due to the angle, it looks like the BBM has nothing in the output and the settings look like I just pulled it out of the box (the sustain is cranked, so the volume is actually close to unity set like that). Oh well.

OC-3 -> BBM -> Groove Regulator -> Noise Box -> PitchBlack+ on a PT-jr.

It would be almost close. With side jacks touching the next box over, the OC-3-BBM-Groove Regulator-Noise Box chain runs about 16 inches. The [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] (I needed a tuner badly and it was the only good one in the shop) and it's sitting on the top row by itself. If I switched to a regular PitchBlack, I'd be able to put it all in one row on a Mini.

Problem is, then I couldn't expand. If I can't have GAS attacks I think that means I'd be banned from the Effects forum (I'm new here, but I'm pretty sure that's the rule). Hanging out in the Strings forum doesn't seem like much fun :(

Hi guys
Finally I have a board. At the moment I only have the most necessary things on it, but I'm pretty happy with it. The LoMenzo isn't that bad, but I have better things in mind: I ordered a x-over from sfx sounds and I'm looking forward to combine it with the M9.

Some of the effects on the pic will never make it on the board (e.g. ODB-3/BlackFinger/Jamman). But we will see...

I need the AB-2 because I have two basses live (Nashprecision in normal tuning and a Fender Jazz with H-E-A-D).
