What's so unorthodox about that?

The picture is confusing, it looks like it's the other way around.

I just wondered why you have the whammy at the start of the chain. It makes sense to me to have it after the distortion etc.

I also dont really see the point in having the compressor in the middle of your chain, can you explain to me why you think it sounds best there?

Well, most put modulation effects after gain effects, but go with what sounds best to you.

If I owned your setup I would have setup like this. I'd add a loooper though.

Amplifier <- Loooper (Whammy, Phaser, Echo) <- Wah <- Guvnor <-Bass

I've never used compression so I'm not sure where I would put that.

I put the Whammy first because it tracks the best with clean tones. Think about it, would you rather have a distorted Whammy (like now) or a Whammy'd distortion? It wouldn't track very well with distortion before it.

I put the compressor in the middle because I like my compressor after the wah. I was using this pic as a reference.

The reason why I don't have a loooper is because I haven't noticed any tone loss other than with the Whammy. I'm gonna get a mini for my Whammy, and I can't notice any tone being sucked by my phaser nor wah.

EDIT: And I like my wah before distortion. If I get a RAT, i'm gonna put the Guv'nor before the distortion and the RAT after so I can have both sounds.

IS THE GRILLING OVER?! :hiding:

I put the whammy after my Prunes and Custard and it tracked just fine. So if it tracks fine after a random harmonic generator, I think it will track fine after a simple diode clipping distortion circuit.

Whammy'd distortion is too awesome to have it the other way around, IMO.

Secondly, why do you need to compress the wah, and doesnt it seem a little convoluted to compress a signal and then distort it?

I guess it's not.

Quick question... if I like it, is there a problem? The ordering is fine.

Of course there is no problem, you can burn all your gear for all i care.

Since this is a place where we share information, i was trying to understand your board and the thought processes behind it, and see if i could apply any of your principles to my board.

You obviously think im criticising you and you couldn't be further from the truth. I am trying to help you and myself. Maybe you should chill out a little and be less aggressive? Stress is a killer, you know.

why do people use whammy's whith bass??? it is like one of my existential questions!!!

ps: petary you should mod your gu'vnor, they're not true bypass

ps2: i've found my dream OD tonebone Classic!!! killer overdrive, better than my original guv'nor, wayyyy beter and still timmy C like
