Has anyone here tried one of the Snarling Dogs wah pedals?

I picked one up for guitar use and I I think its great for bass too. I havent tried the other models but the one Im using is the Whine-O-Wah. It has 3 modes for different wah voicings, a volume control with a hormone switch (flip to testosterone for extra boost) and an extra footswitch to turn on a circuit which acts like a preset tone control to get a phatter sound.

I'm upgrading right now from pedaltrain regular to the tonebone boneyard.

I'm still getting right layouts worked out etc, but so far this is how I think it's going to look:Link Removed

couple of things will change:
waiting on 4 loop loooper with master bypass to replace the 3 loop version currently there.
EBS Microbass II will replace MXR M-80

Loop A will be
Digitech Bass Synth Wah -> Dredgetone Angler -> Hotcakes XLF -> XXL
Loop B will be
Fuzz -> M-188 -> BassIQ -> Deep Impact
Loop C will be
VWah
Loop D will be
Mutron

I'm probably also going to get the Mutron modded for true bypass.

very much so, it's a pretty extreme distortion but very cool.
I kind get that thick middy Peter Hook distortion sound out of it very easily, but it's very versatile with plenty of other sounds in it

I wanted my rack tuner on my board. So i had the manufacturer knock up a flexible rack mount system for it. I've still got a fw of those "killer pedals" abark. I'm just hiding them from you until i get a few more things sorted out. Then i can do a "grand reveal" on my board. It'll blow some minds

Here is mine! Its just a start but I have more pedals on the way. The board is homemade and as you can see I left lots of room to grow (it's 40" by 18")!

It's kind of a crappy picture but the batteries in my camera died. I'll post an update once I get some new additions.

Hahhahaha. It is sitting on the top of the case which is 8" high. At first I planned on having 2 levels and wanted to make sure I had more than enough room. Needless to say the thing is huge and hardly fits in my car.....so I am gonna cut it down 4 or 5 inches.

But the way it is in the picture is does make a nice stage/pedalboard! hahha

With the LS-2, I can bypass all of this in the simpliest way, and as it's buffered, I don't loose too much signal with the two jacks (6 and 3 meters...).

I can also mute, boost. I can mix dry and wet. And with a tuner in loop A, I will have a tuner send.

It's still not finished yet, I don't have money right now (2 new basses...), so I think it will stay like thisa moment. But I'll add a synth, some egalisers to control tone (especially before the overdrive). And I'll make a custom looper to control all of this, inverting wha and disto order, changing two or more pedals at one time, and so on...

It sounds cool, yeah. The more time goes, the more I think it's not the kind of chorus I like, but it's a great, really great chorus. The flanger is wonderfull too.

Be sure to check out the Analogman chorus. I hear it's great.

Yep, I have some chorus to test, if someday I choose to look for another one. But it's not my priority. I have other things to do before that.

how does the Trinity compare to other envelope/wah pedals you've tried?

Well, I tried not really much of thoses things. Bass synth Wah, Mini Qtron, Mutron.

I must say it's a great envelope filter. Combines three controls of the filter, a LFO, a dynamic, a manual. The range of variation is great, for guitar and bass. For me it's a pity the decay can't be controlled, but there isn't such a control on the Qtron or the Mutron either, so...

I don't know if it's better than the Qtron, for example. It's sligthly different, and thoses differents make it great.

The stuck wah option is a great thing to make a distorstion sound different (wah put before, of course).

I'm quite happy with it, because it offers lots of possibility, not just a funky dynamic wah, like the Qtron does (the Qtron is great too, but does almost only one thing, one sound usable on bass, in my opinion).

I was just thinking about this, but how hard/difficult would it be to do a rackmounted version of most pedalboards, and how would you even approach it?? I'm getting to the point where I like all my settings on my pedals and would like to get them out of the way and just have a MIDI controller or something.. I plan on getting an Eden WT550 soon for small gigs/practice and upgrading to a 12 or 14-space roller rack, so I'll have room. Would you just throw them in a rack drawer or something, or where can you get the shelves I've seen a few people have on here?? I'd love to have one of those CAE setups, but know they're pricey- almost on an Eventide level, which is what I'm saving up for right now. Ah well. I may just get a new power supply and leave my board as-is now instead of putting more money into something I want to upgrade anyhow...

CAE is spendy but top of the line. Of course you'll be waiting for it for a long long time. My buddy waited 4 years for his amp.

But if you're looking mount your pedals in your rack, check into the Digital Music Corp GCX, 8 true-bypass switchable loops, that can be controlled via MIDI. Invalid Link Removed
