I might have to get one of these bassbone things. Do you use it to balance out the different output levels of your 2 basses, and them run it out to your effects?

I also have a G&L which is rediculously hot, and a Fender aerodyne which is relatively low. I usually just use one at a time, with each effect dialed in for whatever bass I'm using at the time.

Yeah the way the Bassbone work is that you can turn down one of the inputs and one of them up and vice versa etc etc.

Yes, I am a Tech21 addict. They should get me an endorsement:).

I did not try the Paradriver so far. I have been using the Acoustic DI for my acoustic bass. Now I am using it to replace the awesome RBI preamp. So I just have to setup a pedalboard (and no rack).

Everything is setup in line. I try to use only pedals that are neutral sounding in bypass mode.

There goes the signal flow: Bass > Radial Bassbone > EBS Octabass > 2x SABDDI > Peterson Strobostomp > EBS Multicomp (in "Tube" mode) > Acoustic DI.

I like the Octabass a lot. I prefer using it in front of the distortion, so it tracks better and gives a nastier sound together with some drive.
I put the Tuner after the OD in order to shut everything really up when needed!

80% of the time only the Bassbone, Multicomp & Acoustic DI are active..
The SABDDIs give my different levels of boost and overdrive.

After that, I hit the mixer and feed my inear mix. So mostly I am not using any amp. The whole sound gets done in the fingers and on the pedalboard.
In case I am using an amp, its (SWR SM500 & 2 x Aguilar GS112) only role is to amplify and eq the sound according to the room/stage.

A bassbone is a limited two channel preamp. I say limited because the A channel has only a IMHO useless EQ switch and channel B has low/mid/high. The idea is to EQ the amp for one bass and use the second channels EQ to compensate for differences.

It also cannot be used as preamp straight to a power amp. They volume seems to be attenuate only. i.e. max is unity gain. There is a boost however.

So what you would do is max out the volume on the aerodyne channel, then attenuate the G&L channel until the two matched in volume.

With one bass, you can switch between the two channels. So with the G&L only plugged in, you could still switch to the maxed out channel to get full output if you wanted.

all i need is a mini q-tron, ibanez tube screamer (got one) and to make a signal splitter before the wah so i can run a clean and effected signal into my amp

Hi mikkejohansson,

What do you think of the Boss SD-1 and DS-1. I was having a look on the Stinkfoot mod webby and they look very interesting. Shame they dont have any soundclips of the Distortion as thats what id be after.

I love them! The DS1 sounds quite massive and the SD1 can be very transparent. They complement each other very well...

On a curious note I've come to use them on visually identical settings (the "tone" and "level" knobs are not in the same place on both pedals)....just happened to be the best setting on both.....hmmm.

Still no board yet (Christmas! :D:D:D) And also, I haven't got another power supply yet...So I can only power 5 pedals :crying: (7 if you include the pedals with their own supplies). I'm planning on getting the Godlyke Power All, with an extra daisy chain.

Only new addition is the EH Octave Multiplexer (An absolutely blinding octave down pedal, strongly recommend it ;))

I've also gotta sort out my chain sometime...At the moment I have no clue which is going to go into what, and I just quickly set that up to play a couple of songs.

I will post a picture when i aquire the last few pieces but this is my pedalboard assemebly in the making. I dont use effects nearly as much as a lot of you (ie: i dont use tone shaping Eq pedals, limiters, enhancers, compression) , i just plan on making a pedalboard thatll help in my experimental adventures.

I'm not sure if it's meant to, but my mulitplexer seems to distort the octave signal with the sub switch up? :D Sounds cool never the less.

I pretty much have it like this:
High Filter: 12:00
Blend: 11:00
Bass Filter: about 1 or 2:00

That gives a nice round octave sound, but gives the distortion when you flip the switch. They're great pedals, great tracking, I love it.
