Post Your Pedalboard - Part I

After much consideration I've decided to not get a SansAmp, so these are my pedal rigs:

Main (Noisy) Rig: Boss TU-2 -> Boss NS-2 -> Send to Dime Crybaby From Hell -> Aphex Punch Factory to Return on NS -> Dunlop HighGain Volume

The reason that it's noisy is because I have the tone control on my bass compleatly on (it transmits some serious hiss), and the PF is set to 10 :eek: . It's even worse when the CFH is rocked forward :eyebrow: . It's basically my "wanking" ( :bassist: ) rig so it doesn't really matter ;)

Mini (Band, if I was in one :o ) Rig: Boss TU-2 -> EHX English Muff'n

Simple, yet effective. The reason this one isn't noisy is that I have the tone controll on the bass rolled compleatly off, stiffling the hiss, and giving me some sweet, sweet, deep tone :D :bassist:

The TU in the second pic is actually supposed to be connected to the Muff'n with the Output (not Bypass) jack so that I can use it as a mute as well... (my bad :hiding: )

very nice and clean, simple yet effective.

May I suggest you look at getting the Analogman Mini Chorus Clone it does save on quite alot of space and it's the same pedal (make sure you get it with deep mod at no extra charge) I just got mine and it is fantastic.

Very nice board :D

how do you rate the bass octave? how's the tracking? How does it compare with other octave pedals?

Well, I think it' a good octave pedal : simple, efficient, tracking is good as far as I'm concerned (even if I'm not billy sheehan...) and the synthetised note sounds very natural.
The best octave pedal I ever played is the Digitech Bass Synth Wah (depending of settings, you can get a simple octave effect from this little box), but it's not true bypass.
I didn't like the boss OC-2. tracking was good too, but it always adds a little distortion, it does'nt sounds natural, and also, it's not true bypass...

I modded this Bass Octave (added the true bypass). SO I had the opportunitty to test it.

For me, it's a good octaver. It tracks well. It sounds particularly, with a very "dark" tone, almost no mids/trebles. In can be interesting, I personnaly found it... just too dark.

I think I prefer the OC-3, the poly mode is a seriously good feature. And if not true bypass, I never found the Boss bypass sucked. OT : I recently had an idea to true bypass a Boss, I think I'll try soon ! ;)

you modded what pedal? that blue mxr octave in Lyon? or another one?

how was the octaver before he modded it? is it a good octaver without that mod?
also how is the Keeley? can u get subtle compression?
does it thicken the bass for groove style lines?
thanks im using an lmb3 boss compressor and it sounds great for thickening up the groove. but it looks cack!

The keeley provide a very transparent compression, not a dramatic effect.
It's a great pedal for bass and give you a more "hearable" sound in rehearsal or gig conditions, with more definition.
It doesn't kill your bass original tone like the lmb-3 does!

im afraid to switch becuase i really rely on the boss lmb3 to give me that nice thick groove when im called to lay it down, im looking for something a little more exotic to do the same in fact!
i just hate the look of this pedal on my nice pedaltrain jnr!
