Think 60's distortion. I tried every single distortion pedal in stock at GC, looking for something that didn't kill the lows TOO much and had adjustable gain. I needed something that could give me a range of tones, rather than just on/off. I was intentionally trying to avoid the Muff'n because it is almost $100 more expensive than most distortion pedals. At the end of the day, it was exactly what I was looking for. I believe there is a distortion mega-thread that has a sample. I'd make a sample for you, but I don't have any way to record it right now.
The downside is that this pedal has a 24v adapter with an unusual jack. This is the reason I have attached the powerstrip to my board. The powerstrip has a 15' power cord, so I plug my Muffn and my entire board into the powerstrip, then plug the powerstrip into the wall. When I'm finished with it, I just unplug the powerstrip and put the whole thing in the carry bag. The other downside is that it is REALLY big. That and the Bassballs take up alot of room on my board. I have also noticed that it is noisy when my Boss Limiter is engaged, but the limited is really unnecessary while the Muffn is in action.

that's an SKB PS25 powered pedal board. powers up (i think) 6 9V pedals and has a patchbay on it. (the thin thing on top is the powering/patchbay section of the board.)

That is correct. I had to add the powerstrip because of the Muffn, so I just plug the board into the strip and then run the strip to the wall socket. All of my pedals are powered by the board except for the muffn.

I'm going to add a wah soon probably the 105Q but I'd like to try or at least here some others. I'm also interested in a phaser but I'm wondering how much it would suck my lows?
I work at an electronics factory(wire harnesses and circuit boards for heavy trucks and boats) and I'm going to try and build a ring mod from a diagram I found on the internet(I just have to find it again).

when i do feedback noise techno electronica i move the chain around like an old synth paching!
My chain grows with my needs. the only thing i put out of my chain was a cry baby and now the NE1 cuz I have wierd my bass with out any pots(vol, ton) and it doesen't need any coloring, boost/cut or EQ and surtenly no craying babys hehe.
I am thinking of getting my self a A/B switch becaus i have a yamaha leslie type amp with tremolo and vibrato options so I would be able to get the sound out of that to if i ever wanted to do psycadelia!!

The new one is a product of both lexicon and digitech!!
And the old one is just a looper cuz you can't do much wit 8 sec ot loop time. Now I have 6 hours of loop time!!

I've made a few changes I thought I'd share. My EHX English Muff'n is the best sounding overdrive I've ever heard, but it had to go. It's just too f***in big. Between the pedal and the custom power supply, it made my board huge. Likewise with the Bassballs. New setup fits in a briefcase. If I find a camera to borrow, I'll post pics. Until then:
bass -> loooper (with modified DOD250 in the loop) -> Maxon AF-9 -> Boss TU-2 -> EHX Holy Grail -> Aphex Punch Factory -> Ernie Ball VP. Jr. -> amp
Very concise, very good sounding setup. I'll be good except for toys for quite a while.

well, that's it for now. I'd buy a board when i completed the setup.

1)a home made small clone copy. some guy made it for me, and it eats some highs, and i thought what the hell i can mod it my self, then turns out i m not a EE kinda guy....so it stops working and i sent it to another guy to fix it for me.
2)and this smart guy is designing a 5s delay now, i plan to buy it. will take some time though.
when i got the above two i can finally ditch the zoom 708II
Some explanation:
from right:
bass goes to the white box(which is a dyna comp, made by some other guy

then goes to the 7band EQ(the above mentioned smart guy made it for me, i actually choosed those freqs although haven't figured out how to use it, need help

then goes to the green box (which is a tube screamer like od, looks cool huh? it a guitar pedal so far it doesn't eat my lows so i guess that's fine. . also home made, by some other other guy )
then goes to the dirty looking yellow box(which is actually a russian muff, the above mentioned smart guy made it for me)
then goes to the Ibanez Weeping Demon which you all already knew.
then goes to the 2 channal looper(made by myself
) , the zoom708II also in the looper, some time i use the reverb and octave, but i m gonna get rid of it eventually. then goes to the behringer BDI21 then amp. when i use the fuzz(or some settings of wah) i have to turn the behringer off 'cos it sound like crap..no idea why. i figured i can replace it with a Harkte DI or some similar pedal, haven't decided though.
I ran out of cables so for now I m only using one channel of the looper to bypass the 708.
As you can see i have the tendency to buy home made stuff instead of the real product thing. too bad i can't find anyone here would like to build a envelope filter or octave pedal for me, so i guess i have to buy some thing like a mini qtron(i kinda like digitech BSW, but it just so not fit into my effect chain style).
well, that's it for now.

but i wish i made those pedals all by myself.The custom effect pedal bussiness is just starting here. The market is so small and the custom pedals are actually cheaper than the mass product ones, provided, of course, you have to find the right guy to make sure you're not gonna receive a bag of crap sounding pedal.

I'm going to build these clones for the summer: GGG.com leslie emulator ( Hearkbreaker!!! led zep)
and Some kind of ring modulator
plus my big personnal project: a guv'nor based distortion with active 3band eq+active blender with two levels of boost : a clean boost for slapping and a OD boost for more gain
I'm looking forward!

i built a box for my board and got it all fixed down. 15 quid and it was sorted. all i need now is for some more urges to come along and ill have to rip all the buggers up again.
I've finally finished my board after two years of buying and trying effects. I think i'm done - for now - and I must say this setup really works for me.
