Nice! I've always been most interested in the double germ b:assmasters. That Nocto has been killing me for a while too.. Im looking forward to hearing your clips

Reviews with clips when i get them of course!

I found this interesting about the Nocto in the specs page..

the Nocto Loco squares the input signal
and shifts the signal (unity) one, two, and three octaves down.

Octaves four, five or six down can be mixed in causing a trembling, pulsing effect which varies speed based on the initial frequency....
faster pulses for higher notes and slower for lower notes.

So I went and made some noise

Friggin' rad stuff, I dig it. I've been a casual noise fan for a few years but didn't start really creating it until a year ago. It's a lot of fun, getting that odd part of my personality out to tape. Err, umm, I mean, mp3. Whatever.

Some crappy shots. No new pedals, took my PD-7 off. I just don't use it, but I like the way it sounds so it'll stay until I find a use for it, haha. I've already sold it once and regretted it. This is another temp board before I build a new one, once belonged to beyondhairy.

Chain goes: Whammy(Dry out to Korg PB) > Non-Mosfet Bassdrive > NYC Blue Muff > MXR Classic Distortion>Modded DS1 > Phase 90 > Boss PN2 > Boss DD3 > Boss DD5 > Boss CS3

CS3 is always on, Bassdrive is on probably 90% of the time for grit (see sig for my band), whammy and phaser are fighting for third most used pedal, haha.

I'm no where close to being done with pedal buying, you should know this, lol.



Since I'll be purchasing a Boss RC50 in the near future along with about, Idunno... 10 or so more pedals. I'm building my own board which will be split in two ala Juan Alderete. I'm building it to the inside dimensions of a 88key keyboard bag, which is something like 55"x15". I'll throw the plans up on here along with pedal placement when I draw up something I'm happy with. (not working on the my bands logo...:scowl

The wiring and placement of pedals are gonna make you neat n' clean guys go nuts....


As long as I can hit the pedals unobstructed, I don't care.

Thanks! I've been a dirt fanatic as of late.


And my CS3 is stock. I've never looked into any of the mods for it, but it does it's job (whatever that job is) and that's all I want it to do. If I were to upgrade I'd get something rackmounted.


The "noise" issues people talk about isn't really an issue with me. It's something to do with how the level knob is set and how it's tweaked from the factory or something like. Past a certain point, I think like 10'oclock, it's really boosting your signal and what you "don't" wanna hear gets boosted as well.

But from what I've noticed, it's only when you don't play... so I don't see the problem.

Although now with the current exchange rates, it isn't as beneficial as it was about 5 months ago. Buying used from Talkbass, Harmony Central, Basschat and the Gear Page is good to do. Ebay's a good choice too.

2 VTs? 3 Line Switchers? Please, do explain the chain

Theres only 2 line switchers and ones probably for a cleaner tone than the other.

LS-2 #1 Loop A - Bass Auto Q > Hyper Drive > Cool Cat > DD-3

LS-2 #1 Loop B - Empty/Clean

LS-2 #2 Loop A - VT Bass with drive set halfway

LS-2 #2 Loop B - VT Bass with no or very little drive (varies).

Yeah, i saw the DD3 and assumed an LS for some reason. But seems like it'd work well. Got any sound clips for LS-2 #1 Loop A?
