Its really useful, the EQ is really powerful, it sounds crystal clear in normal mode and can get really dirty in AGS. the AGS mode is nice, i would use it more if i didnt have better pedals that can do the same job. I could gig with just the Tone Hammer, its a great, straight to the point pre/DI. the only real downside is the 18v is a bit of a fuss to power and the jacks appear to be plastic, which is my biggest gripe on a $200ish pedal.

Is there even a pedal to which you can compare the AGS mode?

Just curious, as I don't always enjoy lugging my Groove Tubes Brick around. Something to throw in the front pocket of my gig bag would be excellent. It's either this or a Sadowsky DI for me right now.

I would quickly switch out those jacks if they were plastic. But that's just me. :-)

There arent any pedals that i have tried that are that simialr to the AGS but the best comparison i can offer is that it is like a medium to high gain OD.

there are some cool clips here

also the plastic jacks are pretty sturdy for plastic jacks, im not gonna switch them out simply because i cant be bothered and they are away from feet because of the overhang at the top of the pedal which protects all of the connections

Also if you are considering this or the Sadowsky i would personally go for this every time, even if you wont use the AGS, the Sad is a 2 band eq and this is a 3 band with semi parametric mids, and at a similar price, i waited 3 and a half months for mine and it was worth the wait

Thanks for the tips on the AGS. Still think the Sadowsky is worth something, though. Hmm.

I don't really wanna get a bigger board a JR is as big as I need really, I wouldn't use a delay much live, if I did I'd swap out one of the Cream Pies. I was actually thinking of getting a mini for gigging which would be Cream Pie>Analoge filter>Tuner>PBDDI

ive had an ever-changing board over the years that has gone from small to big to small again, so here is my small efficient board. newly re-carpetted and new velcro on the pedals. finally everything stays put! the mxr is not secured as you can tell, i pull it off the board and use it to record now and then, and it stays in place anyway, so i didn't bother. the only thing i miss is a delay, which i may add eventually.

Compared to my SCP->Muff'n->Volume->VTBass->DD-20 setup, yes :D

I've basically replaced the 2 pedal preamp/headphone combo of the VT and DD with the single pedal that is the MB, and switched out drive duty of the Muff'n with the VT. Still figuring out how to best hook up the volume:

Still, its one less pedal, and it fits in a smaller area :D

Im not sure if I'll be keeping the VT or going for something different yet, still got another month to decide. I may even eventually sell the Muff'n.... again :o

Picked it up today. Basically returned my DD-20 within the 30 day period, and got full credit so the MB only cost me 150 bucks.

EDIT: Oh, and if you're thinking that that is the super secret pedal.... its not. THAT is still coming ;)

A volume knob would be cut only. A boost basically makes your signal louder without (in theory) coloring or clipping it. You can drive tube amps and most OD/Dist/Fuzz units harder increasing the amount of distortion.
