This is what I call simple and to the point. Board is temporary until I figure something else out. This will do. The odd jack placement of the Champion Fuzz requires a little creativity, but this works even if it does look like a wire nest in the middle.

I bought mine from someone here on TB a while ago. I love that thing, especially when I run ODB(Set for dirty boost)->Classic Fuzz(Crazy Ampeg-Scramblerish setting)->ODB#2(Set for high gain and bring some more bass back in). It gets out of hand.

I do remember running a Metal Zone before the Classic Fuzz way back then. And the sound coming out of it was insane. Some sort of crazy buzz saw sounds blasting through my speakers. I gotta find another high gain pedal (or get another Metal Zone) to try for that sound again. I loved it. I guess running the ODB before it would have a similar effect. The ODB does have the insane distortion pretty much like the Metal Zone.

So how is it working out for you? Does it satisfy your "bassy" needs as you inquired. I know Wasted Bassist and I told you it would go pretty deep.
And... how much did you get it for?

got rid of the Boomstick Bottom Feeder (found i could almost get the same tones out of my wah)

and added the MXR Phase 90 (free)

finding it useable on one song....anything past noon for me just isn't workable

if i like the effect enough i my swap it out

If you're looking for a swooshing like sound, take the advice that I should have taken (and now have): Get a flanger.

If your just messing with the phase, carry on

I know how you feel in some ways... my complete board is for my thrash / hard rock band... only have 6 songs but we've been through 4 lead guitarists so feel like were always back to square 1... the slow gear acquisition and the making sure the songs are top notch before we gig is getting to me but at least I can say we are becoming better musicians for it...

hence my new drum machine + me project... but I won't sidetrack, I'll wait till I have gathered everything I need and then post pictures of the second board when it is all setup... found my cherry pop and TZ2 fuzz today though and soooo including them on the second board

I've put a lot of time and effort (and money..) into it; research, experimentation, buying and selling used gear, etc. I still have a lot to learn, but its been a great journey thus far and I have the collective information of the talkbass effects forum and its members to thank for much of it.

Well, still waiting for mine. Pretty long way from USA to North-Eastern Europe
I got it for 45$, shipping included. Item itself was 20,50...yeah, i know its double the price but:
1) It is only way to get it, and i think cheapest (unless i steal one, but i dont think anyone have one in Latvia)
2) It still is low price for fuzz pedal, and VERY low if we consider local prices.

It`s character is similiar to russian muff, and i just love them. So why not? Now only problem is, where to get space on my pedalboard...

I might start a new thread on it when I get around to assembling the order and asking for advice / tips etc... don't want to de rail this one

(as for hearing it, eventually ill get clips up I guess but my goal is to recreate something akin to NIN's ghost stuff to a perfect circle with the 13th step vibe to it... slow / medium dramatic yet powerful? )

If you're looking for a swooshing like sound, take the advice that I should have taken (and now have): Try a flanger.

If your just messing with the phase, flange may be your preference.

Fixed it for you as I really like phaser, but find it hard to use a flanger.

In the band room last night. Friend let me borrow the pog, never used one before, its produces some cool synthy transformers sounds when set right, just wish it had expression pedal control.

I have a few other items in the loop as well, but this is pretty much the items, but not in the exact order. I've had to reorder a few items. It is a versatile setup between bass and guitar at the moment.

Have you tried using an expression pedal with your PS-3?

Or get a HOG. That's what I'm doing.

I do have a ps-3, which is awesome. I have been considering a HOG for awhile now. I just wish they were not so expensive.

Personally, I've come to the conclusion that the Supercollider is just all around awesome. If I could only keep one of my current fuzzes, it would be hard to choose even the Pickle or Goat over the SC.

Here is my current setup.
It goes:
Digitech Whammy --> Boss PS-3 --> MXR Bass Blowtorch
Dry output: Boss GEB7 --> Boss LS2 input A
Wet: ProCo Turbo Rat (cut cap mod) --> Boss CEB3 --> Boss LS2 input B
Boss LS2 --> Boss DD7

Empty spot above whammy is for Dod FX72 - still waiting for 3PDT
Also Dod FX52 have to come soon, but currently i dont know where to put it. When i was planning this board, i kept in mind that it will also contain Subdecay Prometheus, so there should be place for Dod, till i buy Prometheus (next month). But where to put it after that..? Well, i guess i have to start making new board



P.s. there was discussion on other thread about LS2. Bryan Tyler and other guy stated that you need dummy plug in its input, to use it as mixer. Well, you guys where right actually - you do need dummy plug, unless you use power output of pedal. Realised that when messed around with cables.

So, to run LS2 as mixer, you need to have something inside its input or power output!

I've seen that Weeping Demon on a few bass boards. How are they on bass? Most guitar players I've seen using them sell or trade them pretty quick.
