Man, those pedaltrains are actually kinda expensive... What makes them worth it that you wouldn't be inclined to make one yourself?

I saw the pedaltrain jr. with flightcase on musiciansfriend.com for $170... it looks like its made out of metal, but I could make one out of wood... probably for free since my dad has a lot of wood lying around, but even so, enough wood to make that would cost under $5

making the case would cost a little more, but i'm sure the whole thing would cost under $20

I highly doubt you can build a case like mine for $20 but hey if you can build ATA cases for like $20 I'm sure you can sell loads of them.

The board is metal, its very high quality and light, mine is the softcase version and I've had a fitted case made as the pedaltrain case you have to remove the pedaltrain to use it.

well, not saying it would be as nice of quality, but it would get the job done

I suppose if I had a lot of money lying around or had funding from an outside source (record deal or something of those sorts) I would invest in the high quality stuff, but I can make something that functions similarily for much cheaper...

edit: didn't know what ATA stands for... now i do! so maybe if I had to make something that applied to their standards it would be more complicated.

Why cannot it not be used with the Pedaltrain inside the case?

And be that the case (no pun intended), how much did it cost for your custom case? Was it less or more that the package with the ATA provided by Pedaltrain?

The sides on the proper case are taller than the board so you can't stomp on them, also the lid isn't removeable.

My custom case ran me about $120 but it was a prototype and the first case he made, I've since had another one ordered that is running around $200 but in the UK that's pretty cheap.

No I haven't.
I did not have many solutions available where I am and I'm still not a strong web buy/send-it-back-if-you-don't-like-it person.

To answer the question, I have not noticed any low end loss if that's the hidden question, ;) . And so far it's all good for splitting. I'm still opened to suggestions as far as splitter if you know a perfect one...on a budget.
The mixer is probably temporary, that was just a fun project. I may look for a better solution. It's active and there are not so many active line mixer of decent quality on a budget.

I'm still playing with the Biamp. It is great, I love the guitar amp+bass amp combination. It sounds huge :bassist:

It's just going to be a switching box. 2 switches:
1st switch:
-clean signal to Guvnor2 & Big muff to 2nd switch
-Big Muff to Guvnor2, the rest is not connected

2nd switch for selecting Big Muff to either mixer or 2nd amp.

Thanks man. Now I know better than to order the pedaltrain I GAS for with the hardshell.

And seeing as how Kentucky is a pretty fine distance from the UK, maybe I should start looking for custom makers closer to here...

in the TBD loop the following: SEND->EHX Tube Zipper->Moog Ring Modulator->Effector 13 Torns Peaker(not pictured)->Ampeg Scrambler->MXR Phase 100->Line 6 Echo Park->RETURN

couldn't be happier at the time.. but as we all know.. GAS never sleeps :)

and here's my "strange pedals" board. (without a board :smug: )

Some rare and discontinued stuff I really love..

Of course..very NOISY pedals, tone suck and so on.(not the Sansamp).... but I don't care since this is my Experimental stuff, and is normally only used at home. Again.. for NOISY music! :)

I love DOD and I love old lo-fi effects, so here you can see a bunch of them!
If anyone wants some clips, tell me!

The new ones are Digitech XP-300 Space Station, DOD Buzz Box (which I sold my Blue Box for) and BOSS PS-2 Pitch Shifter/Delay.

I don't "stomp" on anything, they just sit there and stay on.
I do mute for tuning, and between sets, but all that takes is a push
of a button with my finger. It sounds great in the mains and monitors.
Very clean, no hiss, buzz or hum.
