Post your pedalboards - Part IV

Let's hear it for DiscomBOBulators! I was thrilled to see them on other people's boards (my pix soon).

I bought one used in my search for the grail of envelope filters (and I tried it ALL: Boss, Mu-Tron, Guyatone, EHX, DigiTech, Moogerfooger LPF - which was my grail for a bit - EBS, MXR... you name it I tried it.

The EMMA was suggested to me by the guys at BassNW who had one in used. I was skeptical, but for $125 bucks, I figured it was worth the shot and I soon became the happiest bass player yet. Throwing a distortion in front of it gets the best synth tones. It's got the syrup of the Mu-Tron, the higher quack of the MoogerFooger, and the broad frequency range of the EBS... it finally brought everything I wanted into one!

EMMAs kick ass!

thats the old ME-8B isnt it? I thought they were red now and all fancy looking

You're thinking of the GT6B. I had one for one day and got rid of it because my active bass (Spector) clipped the input. I don't have that problem with this one. I think the synth sounds are better in this one. I don't use the internal synth sounds but the filter ones. There's no amp modeling with the ME-8B but that's what the Sans Amp is for.

Go to the plumbing section of your local hardware store. He used a nipple (short piece of pipe w/ threads on both ends) and a flange (that round base that is screwed to the board). Measure the size of your mic stand to make sure you get a nipple that is large enough to slip over it.

Yup, stole that idea from someone else here. Used some duct tape around the pipe to take up the slack. You can't see it here but if you make you're own lid, make sure you get some of those "take-apart" hinges from e-bay. I was never able to find thoose locally.

Basically he started off like a troll, but usually trolls leave. He talks himself into a lot of corners, no one has REALLY heard him play (he has some no offense crappy Amazing Grace cover on his site) He makes the typical mistake of saying mine mine mine mine when he talks about the gear his father owns. If he doesn't like the product it sucks and you're stupid for buying it.

Honestly, no one really cares about him it's just interesting to make fun of him, and now that he calls himself "The Moog" im sure he won't see any letting up

I really don't think he has bad intentions, I just think that he does not really realize the extreme chance he has and that with his high key behaviour he upsets people who have to work hard to buy a $100 pedal and for who high end gear will most likely stay a dream.

I hope he understands one day that some people don't have the chance he has and he stops bragging about "his" great gear. Because to be honest it's great gear.

It's actually kinda scary Spankity. How do you know so much about this strange 12 year old boy?

At one time, when Spanky's spine resembled freeze-dried Jell-O, TalkBass was pretty much his house. Heck, it still kinda is - every time someone says "Seach", you can practically feel him grinning with delight.

So yeah... when you're nearly paralyzed and completely bored, you start to investigate members like a zombified CIA agent. All you want is brains... and the precious info they hold.

...yeah, it's scary. I'm still missing some memories from last month's feeding. I would tell you what happened, but he ate the part of my brain that would've remembered it :ninja:

This thread is for posting your pedalboards and talking about them, not for cutting up or picking on 12 year olds. If you want to cut up, go to off-topic or get an instant messanger and do it there.

I thought we covered this in an earlier thread. No public slagging of anyone for any reason. It's well within Moogboy's rights to post about his and his father's gear. It is not within anyone's rights to pick at him for it. There are many other bass/effects forums where anything is allowed, go to another forum if you cannot control the content of your posts.

There is also an option to block a member's posts if his posts bother you this much. But honestly, if a twelve year old boy can rile you up that badly, maybe you should unplug and go live real life more.
